What our Guests are Saying
Lovely hike
My wife and I wanted to see some wildlife while in Belize and we decided to take this night tour of the Jaguar Reserve. We did not see much but we do understand that this is a huge reserve and they are not kept in cages so they can be anywhere. We did see a deer as we left the park and a possum, bats, gazillions of spiders and ants. This was just basically an easy hike through the jungle at night. I would say that for many it would probably be considered an easy to moderate hike. At one point in the hike, we all turned off our headlamps and just stood there listening to the jungle and looking up through the canopy into the night sky. An absolutely amazing experience!
Jaguar! Jaguar! Jaguar!
We went on this excursion expecting to see some wildlife and to enjoy a hike in the jungle at night. We didn’t expect to see a jaguar as we know its really rare to see them. On our way to the park at dusk (about 5:30pm) we came across a jaguar crossing the road. We kept our distance in the van and managed to get a two minute video of the jaguar watching us. It was amazing and totally unexpected.
Don’t go expecting to see loads of wildlife, it’s a sanctuary and wildlife sightings are not guaranteed!
Speclacular Jungle at Night
We went on a night hike at Cockscomb Jaguar Reserve and did the easy river path hike. It was incredible, from the drive up the access road to the hike itself! Jose was very knowledgeable about the animals and plants and seemed like he was enjoying the experience as much as we were! We saw kingajoo, parrots, tarantula, leaf cutter ants, coral snake, cane toads, owl and some more critters! Loved supporting a great local company and guides as they are passionate about the conservation of this reserve. 5 starts!
